Embraces agro-ecological farming practices to enhance food security among target communities. This entails enhancing communities’ adaptive capacity to effects of climate change through identification of the local indigenous crop varieties that are more nutritious, resilient to little rainfall and less fertile soils, promotion of agro-forestry, organic farming and livelihood diversification among the small holder farmers. Focus is also on sustainable land use, soil protection and restoration and water management practices.
