GDI Kenya works with the target communities to help them secure their rights through getting more involved in decision-making to influence decisions, policies, plans and emerging human right issues that directly affect them. This is through civic education programmes, establishment of community advocacy networks and building their capacity in lobbying and advocacy. The aim is to enhance governance in all sectors through inclusivity, and equity in management and utilization of natural resources for their livelihoods improvement. This wil be achieved through partnering and building collaborations with like-minded organizations and allies. Further, GDI Kenya engages national and county governments in respective target working counties in putting in place relevant legislations and policies and lobby the relevant agencies to enforce these legislations and policies.
